In a statement issued on the 5th of April, Dawn Aerospace announced that its Mk-II Aurora space plane flew three times successfully achieving all test objectives. This is a major advancement towards achieving the company's objective of building a commercial, remotely piloted reusable rocket plane.
The company says that the Mk-II is the first in a series of vehicles that will unite the world of rocket and aviation. In its website the company released a 1-minute video of the Mk-II Aurora taking off horizontally, flying over and landing on the South Island in New Zealand.
" I am stoked to share with you a significant milestone in our journey toward revolutionising space transportation," said Stefan Powell, Dawn Aerospace's CEO " To my knowledge, Dawn operates the most rapidly reusable rocket-powered aircraft in the world,"
